STORYBOARD ART

The following gallery is a selection of storyboard art I created for my previous two films 'Haly Saint' (2003) and 'Absentia' (2007). Both movies tell a lot of the story through colour, so I spent a lot of time in pre-production creating full colour shot by shot storyboards to realise the look of the film. The majority of the artwork was hand sketched then scanned into the computer and digitally coloured in photoshop.

With 'Absentia' I began with a half hour screenplay which was later expanded into an hour long film. I adapted the storyboard art for this initial short version into a comic book, two pages of which can be viewed below.

MASKS AND MODELS

The following gallery is a selection of masks and models I've made over the last three years. The models and characters are all featured in 'Absentia' (2007) which is an hour long science fiction film made entirely with marionettes and miniatures. The models were constructed from cardboard and recycled trash and in many cases re-used to make other models and props.

The models shown are what remained after we'd finished shooting the film. The face masks were made for the Magic Otters live shows in 2008. Each mask is made from lightweight modelling clay, painted in acrylic and varnished for a porcelain-like finish.
